The founder of Nana Aishat Memorial College of Education, Alagbado-ilorin is Dr. Raheem Adebayo issah. He is an indigene of Ilorin, born in a village called Balogun Oja in Igbaja district of Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State on the 19th February. 1960. His father, a peasant farmer in the village got married to Nana Aishat and they both have four children. Dr. Issah, the third child of the family lost his mother at the tender age of four.

Thereafter, it becomes an onerous task for both the grandmother and the father to take care of the little children left behind by the deceased. The former Nursing Officer initially wanted to be an Islamic Cleric at the beginning only to discover that there was no educationist in his family. Relocating from the village to Ilorin and later Lagos also exposed him to the good things of life hence his decision to be well educated.

He started schooling at an Islamic School from 1965-1968 and later Primary School between 1968 and 1973. He was at Oro Grammar School, Oro from 1973-1978 for his secondary education.

He worked for a year at the Kwara State Ministry of Finance before enrolling at the School of Nursing Obangede, Kogi State in November 1980 and left in 1983 He got his first appointment after school at the Basic Health Clinic, Iluke, Kog State, before moving to General Hospital Oro, as a staff nurse between 1986-1988. He moved to Lokoja General Hospital in 1988-1990 and later State Specialist Hospital, obi Ilorin where he retired voluntarily as a Senior Nursing Officer. He established his private clinic named Aishat Memorial Hospital, ita-Merin, lorin on December, 12 1990,

Nine years on, he established Nana Memorial Nursery/Primary School and afterwards Nana Aishat Memorial College, on September 20, 2003. Raheem had in year 2002 gained admission to the University of Ado-Ekiti and graduate with a degree in Guidance and Counseling Education. He proceeded for his Master’s degree in Guidance and Counselling at Concept University London and Pilgrims University North Carolina United States respectively. He rounded up as a member of America Counselling Association. He is also a member of FRSC, Kwara State, National Association of Nigeria Nurse and Midwives, Fellow, Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, International Association of Marriage and Family Counselors and the Vice Chairman, Red Cross of Nigeria, Kwara State Chapter. Member International Diabetes Federation, presently he is an associate professor of G&S

He has written quite a number of journals up to date and has been presented the following awards: NUESA, Unilorin Award of Excellence, Certificate of Honorary Membership by 'MAN o WAR' Nigeria and seal of Excellence Award by the Institute of Corporate Administration for his outstanding prowess on Education Administration. Currently llorin Emirate Forum Award.

He is happily married with children. His favorable quote is: "Do It Better Than Doing It Again".

According to the Proprietor, the idea to establish a tertiary education i.e., Nana Aishat Memorial College of Education, llorin was conceived in 2008 after the secondary section i.e. Nana Aisha Memorial College was successfully accredited as centre to write examinations such as WASSCE, NECO and NABTEB. He applied to NCCE and a provisional approval was granted by the National Commission for Colleges of Education NCCE, Abuja in 2009 to establish the College. Nana Aishat Memorial College of Education, Alagbado-llorin commenced with 11 Pre-NCE students in September 2009. The college commenced full, Nigeria Certificate of Education NCE teacher education in September 2010. There are plans to establish a University which could serve products of Nana Aishat and new intakes as soon as the College of Education has a strong footing among tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
